The plot of the former «Paradies» hotel undoubtedly represents a favourable construction site in the community of Weggis thanks to its central location and spectacular panoramic views. Our architectural research is based on developing a specific type of residential building aimed at future residents and in particular how the development relates to the existing settlement and landscape and how its potential can be fully exploited in spatial terms. Features typical of the location such as verandas, conservatories and piano nobile will be integrated into the design and given a contemporary interpretation. A three-storey, linear structure will be positioned on the steep upper edge of the plot which will be linked to the Luzernerstrasse via a bridge-like access walkway. A second, compact structure will be positioned on the southern-edge of the plot. This will complete the road development and its size will fit in with the existing neighbouring buildings. The shells of the two buildings will be made from light clinker and concrete to exude a timeless sophistication reminiscent of a grand hotel.
We are delighted to announce that our proposal for the new water sports base at la Jonction in Geneva has won the open competition among 73 national and international entries!
The design, in the breathtaking setting where the Arve and Rhone rivers converge in the city, is based on a concept of circular reuse. In the spirit of urban mining and to largely reduce gray energy, our project called "OBJETS TROUVÉS" proposes the conversion of an existing office building and the reuse of long-span steel trusses from a nearby dismantled hall.
